What makes you want to join SSGS? I was watching youtube videos on this guild and was impressed with gameplay and the way you guys and girls have fun on TS3 and in game. I have not been in a guild in WoT, So all my games are pub's.

the accuracy on the stock is-3 gun is very bad, i doubt i could hit the side of a barn. so i did some research on the tank and found out i need the bl9 gun for it. so i figured i would grind out the exp for the is-4. but if you see that as a bad thing, then hey no worries. just here to have fun, and playing that is-3 wasnt fun for me.

Welcome to playing Russian tanks they normally have the worst accuracy of their tier. Except for the arty well tier 8 at least.

He does have a point. The IS-3 is pretty fucking terribad with the stock gun on it. Although, with the BL-9, if the IS-3 is used properly (as a fast attacker, almost like a med) the tank is a wonder.

All of the IS tanks requires you to be very close to your target to be a viable threat, anywhere farther than 200m is not recommended, i actually find the IS D25T gun to be quite accurate and powerful in CQC

I find his dislike of the IS-3 to be legitimate, although I know Baddy will run in here and shit all over my face while disagreeing with me.

Then how can he like the IS7, which plays the same as IS 3 .......

I hate pubbing in my IS-7. I <3 playing it in Clan Wars. Had tier 8 been the highest tank trees went up to, I'm sure that I would've liked playing an IS-3 as well.

Playing IS3 is def better than playing IS7, since most of the times you get to stomp on lowbies who goes to obvious medium routes then you would have more than enough time to encircle the camping heavies while facing mostly tier 5-6 arties. The reason why Is7 is so unbearable is because you get to face tier 7-8 arties and opponents with actual semblance of skill and common sense.
While i stand by my point of T32 being the strongest 1 vs 1 tier 8 and KT the best chance in high tier matches, Is 3 remains the most playable in my opinion.

Thank you all for the advice. I have only been playing WoT for about 3 months, and 1 1/2 of those months I was out of town and couldnt play. So I am still new to the game. So any advice or help is much appreciated.

Well, 1 general rule for soviet tanks is, cover your frontal hull because for all of IS series (Is7 excluded, 260 effective armor on the upper hull), your frontal is paper thin but you have a very thin chassis, so what you do is.

most likely what will happen is they will hit your tracks and not damage your main chassis at all, but be careful, after 2 or 3 shots they ill switch to HE and blast you down.

Unfortunately, what you are suggesting does not allow for ease of egress. I agree that in some situations what you are doing can be effective- with an IS4, at the very least. My issue with the IS-3 and the IS-7 is the pike nose, which is only truly effective while you are facing your target head-on.

But let's not turn this into a strategy guide. Randy, you should hop on our TS and talk with us- see if the environment of SSGS is something you're interested in.

Plus, the IS-4 is like jesus in a tank, and when turned into a teir 10 it's gonna be amazing so...

ok so i got my bl9 on my is3, and holy crap it made all the difference. thanx for all the input i was really just going to pass it up and go for is4 as i heard is4 is really good bone stock

The IS4 stock with the BL-9 is pretty painful due to the fact that you regularly get put into higher tier matches.
