Depends on the context, if something in game is Overpowered, it could mean that and required Nerfing. If related to forums, it will mean Original Poster. It could also mean someone has forgotten to add two letters to the sign when people look at a shop to realise that it is in fact OPEN. Sexually, it could mean Oral Penetration. I could go on...

Well gates its usually based on the needs of the person applying.

For me I gain:
The ability to join a new Clan and kick new asses.
Be able to help newer people or receive help when needed.
Just have fun with everyone

You gain:
Another player in your ranks. (More players more power)
Someone willing to do thier best to help others.
